Description
VermiNIX Hönskvalster
VermiNIX Hönskvalster is a KRAV-approved pesticide that protects against poultry mites, ants, silverfish, bedbugs, and other crawling harmful insects. VermiNIX Hönskvalster can be used wherever pests occur. VermiNIX Hönskvalster is a pure natural product consisting of a very finely ground fossil stone flour (diatomite). The powder sticks to the pests’ outer exoskeleton/wax layer.
How it works: The powder attaches to the pests’ outer shell and destroys their protective wax layer, causing them to die from dehydration. Because the pests cannot develop resistance to VermiNIX Hönskvalster, you get a safe and long-lasting effect. The product works best when dry. VermiNIX Hönskvalster retains its effectiveness even after becoming wet, as the effect returns when the water evaporates.
VermiNIX Hönskvalster does not dissolve in water or ethanol and may clump together.
Instructions
Areas of use:
(1) Against red poultry mites in chicken houses.
(2) Against crawling insects such as ants, cockroaches, and bedbugs indoors.
(3) Against ants outdoors in dry weather.
Instructions for use:
(1) Against red poultry mites in chicken houses: Before application, the chicken house must be empty of poultry and cleaned. Then apply VermiNIX (50 g/m²) to all surfaces, cracks, cavities, and pathways where mites may hide. Apply directly on the mites if possible. Repeat treatment no earlier than after 7 days if needed. Treatment can be preventive or for ongoing outbreaks.
(2) Against crawling insects indoors: Apply VermiNIX (7 g/m²) in cracks and cavities, such as behind baseboards and cabinets, where insects hide, on their trails, and directly on the insects if possible. Barrier treat insect entrances and trails with VermiNIX (7 g/m) laid in a row 1–3 cm wide (max 2 m per day). Repeat treatments no earlier than after 7 days if needed.
(3) Against ants outdoors: Apply 5 g VermiNIX per anthill, evenly distributed over the nest entrances. Barrier treat insect entrances and trails with VermiNIX (7 g/m) laid in a row 1–3 cm wide. Repeat treatment if needed when all product has been removed by ants (earliest after 24 hours). Maximum 3 treatments per nest.
Guidelines
To ensure safe and effective use of VermiNIX Poultry Mites, follow these recommendations:
Before use: Remove all food, feed, and drinks from the area to be treated.
Usage area: The product must only be used in places where children, pets, or other animals not targeted by the treatment cannot access it.
Application: Do not use the product when other people, especially children or pets, are present. Avoid applying near food, feed, drinks, or on surfaces that may come into contact with these.
Cleaning: If the product spills, clean the area by wet wiping. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
Effect control: If the number of insects does not noticeably decrease within 1–3 weeks, consider contacting a pest control company.
Surfaces: Do not use the product on sensitive surfaces with open pores.
Specific advice for use in chicken houses:
Use the product only when the chicken house is empty.
Cover feeding and watering containers with plastic before application.
Do not apply the product directly on bedding.
Refillable packaging: Application must only be performed using the application tool and the VermiNIX Bulbduster measure (holds 1 dl = 18 g) or using an appropriate measure and application tool. Apply no more than twice per day.
For professional use:
Wear respiratory protection with protection factor 40, such as a powered air-purifying respirator with helmet, hood, or mask, or a full-face mask with P3 particle filter.
Use chemical-resistant gloves and protective overalls according to standards (at least type 6).
