Description
OgräsNIX Effekt
OgräsNIX Effekt is an effective pesticide against weeds and other unwanted vegetation on hardened surfaces (gravel surfaces, paving, concrete, asphalt). OgräsNIX Effekt penetrates plant cells rapidly, causing the weeds to die within a few hours after treatment. It acts powerfully on the vegetation and is biodegradable.
Instruction
Early treatment in the growing season is crucial, before the weed’s root systems and seeds have had a chance to spread. For best results, apply in dry, sunny, and windless conditions with an average daily temperature above 8°C. Pour OgräsNIX into a watering can with a sprinkler head or use a spray boom, and apply the product thoroughly over the entire plant down to the root. Application volume may vary depending on weed size. Note that OgräsNIX is non-selective and should not be used on lawns or other desirable vegetation. Repeat treatment as necessary. Maximum 3 applications per year.
Note: Always use acid-resistant equipment when applying OgräsNIX.
Dosage
Approx. 200 ml per m². Apply 1–3 times per season, or as needed. One 5-liter container covers approximately 25 m².
Warning: Use herbicides with caution. Always read the label before use. To avoid risks to human health and the environment, follow the instructions for use.
Active ingredient: Acetic acid 12% (125 g/L)
CAS No.: 64-19-7
Herbicide classification: Class 3, Registration No. 5628
OgräsNIX Effekt is delivered in a Ready-to-use 5L can.
FAQ
No, the vinegar concentration is generally not the determining factor for effectiveness. Our OgräsNIX Trippel Effekt contains two additives that allow the solution to penetrate the weed more quickly while also enhancing and prolonging the action of the vinegar. As a result, the overall effectiveness is increased—even though the vinegar concentration is lower (6%) compared to, for example, OgräsNIX Effekt (12%).
OgräsNIX can cause irritation upon contact with skin and eyes. If ingested, it may lead to stomach pain and irritation or burning sensation in the throat. Pets should be kept away from the treated area for several hours after application.
Tergent does not recommend cleaning wooden decking with vinegar. Vinegar is a weak acid, and acids have a bleaching effect on porous surfaces as well as a disinfecting and algae-killing action. However, they can also affect the wood fibers and weaken the structure of the material. This may cause the wood to deteriorate, become brittle, splinter, or develop a rough surface—which in turn can make it easier for algae to take hold again later. Moreover, vinegar does not provide any lasting effect and is not particularly effective against soot, grease, or general dirt. Instead, use a product specifically developed for cleaning such surfaces—like Tergent’s Tercol!
When OgräsNIX penetrates the soil, the acid is rapidly diluted, making the product very mild almost immediately. In addition, OgräsNIX breaks down quickly and leaves no lasting impact in the soil. As a result, its effect on soil micro-life is minimal. OgräsNIX is most effective on weeds in the early growth phase. More robust weeds may require higher doses and more frequent treatments.
No problem. It remains just as effective once thawed.
OgräsNIX is gentle on most surfaces. In tests conducted on stone, paving, and gravel paths, no adverse effects have been observed. However, caution should always be exercised on surfaces that are sensitive to acids. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first. Surfaces such as limestone, marble, wood, and aluminum can be sensitive to acids and are best avoided altogether.
We have not conducted tests on this type of material or vegetation. However, OgräsNIX acts through contact and is not absorbed by plants through the soil or roots—only through direct contact with foliage. Unfortunately, we do not have studies confirming whether such plants may be affected.
