Description
Melstar S
Iron supplement for lawns, turf areas, and plant cultivation.
Dosering
Application rate depends on the soil’s pH level and the area being treated. For delicate or newly established lawns, we recommend 6–26 kg/ha.
Solubility
| Water temperature | Solubility | Density |
| 5 °C | 320 g/ | 1,18 kg/l |
| 15 °C | 410 g/l | 1,23 kg/l |
Synonymous trade names: Ferrous Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate, Iron(II) Sulfate, Iron(II) Sulfate Heptahydrate.
Chemical analysis
| Form | Light green crystals |
| Fe | 19,5 % |
| SO3 | 27,8 % |
Note: Avoid applying Melstar S on paving stones, concrete surfaces, decorative stone, etc., as it can cause staining that is very difficult to remove. Do not walk on treated areas until they are completely dry. Do not exceed the recommended number of applications per season to ensure optimal results. Overdosing may cause damage—always use sufficient water when mixing.
Melstar S is delivered in a 25 kg PE bag and is available on order.
Greenkeeper’s Tip

“Melstar is a fantastic crystalline iron sulfate that I primarily use in spring and autumn, the latter to help harden the grass for winter. I apply Melstar to fairways, tees, and greens. The dosage varies significantly depending on the time of year.”
Green = 5 -20 kg/ha
Tee = 10 – 30 kg/ha
Fairway = 10 -30 kg/ha
“The benefit of using Melstar is that it creates a slightly acidic environment where moss and fungal spores struggle to thrive. This temporary shift in the pH of the turf helps create less favorable conditions for these pests. Additionally, the grass gains a darker color, which improves its ability to store sunlight and prepare for winter. These winter preparations also lay the groundwork for a strong start in the spring.”
